Silchester Roman Town 8 mile walk

In the morning we walk through farmland and visit parts of the Roman Town of Calleva Atrebatum.

Lunch will be at the Calleva Arms with the option to picnic at the adjacent recreation ground.

In the afternoon we walk through Benyon's Enclosure, a managed forest of mainly pines to return to the car park. The morning is about 4.5 miles and the afternoon 3.5, although there is an option to return to the car park and drive to the pub for anyone who only wishes to walk in the morning.
