Rambling by train - Poole and the RNLI

We meet as a group at Winchester Railway Station. Please be in good time to purchase your ticket(s) in order that our group catch the 09.34 train (Winchester to Hamworthy – arriving 10.42). Our group will initially gather outside the ticket barriers on the south bound side (platform 2).

The scenic rail journey takes us from Winchester through the New Forest, Christchurch, Bournemouth, Poole and onto Hamworthy.

The ramble will start from the Hamworthy Railway Station and the outskirts of Hamworthy to the Upton Country Park which we will pass through before joining and rambling along the Holes Bay Path around Poole Harbour as we make our way to Poole. The length of our ramble (3.5 miles) is designed to ensure we meet the timed restaurant slot we have been allocated.

Our destination is the RNLI Headquarters where we have a table booked for lunch (12.15) at The RNLI Riggers Restaurant (In addition to the excellent food the restaurant also has great views across the harbour, especially from the bar upstairs)

Our return to Winchester will be by train from Poole Railway Station.

We aim to catch the 14.40 train from Poole arriving in Winchester at 15.47

Please will you would let me know if you would like to come along.
