Bursledon 8.5 miles

The walk will start at Bursledon Station free car park at 10am. SO318AA SU490

We will walk into Manor Farm Country Park and our coffee stop will be at the cafe and toilets by the farm. Service at the cafe is very slow I found today, so bringing your own might be wise! I pre walked today and even after heavy rain overnight the walk was not bad at all, so long as you stick to the good paths. There are three stiles into and out of the park. All easy and in good condition. There is a some mud of course, especially on the way in and out of the park, but nothing very bad. Poles are advised if used. It's a pretty walk with good river views and some minor ups and downs. Lunch will be at the Old Ship in Swanwick. Anyone who wants to picnic can find a seat by the river, behind the pub.

After lunch we'll do a short walk along the shore and up footpaths. The morning walk is 6 miles and the afternoon walk 2.5 miles. The pub is about 15 minutes walk from the car park, so anyone who wants to leave at lunchtime can do so.

The menu for The Old Ship is readily available on their website. They will need pre orders by Tuesday evening if there are more than 10 people lunching, which is quite probable.
