9.8 miles Kilmeston-Tichbourne

The walk begins in Kilmeston,  near the Green. We set off in the direction of Hinton Ampner , the National Trust property,  which sits on a high point offering majestic views across the Hampshire countryside . We continue to Cheriton, a lovely village which lies close to the source of the River Itchen. This provides a perfect stop for a mid morning coffee break . Setting off we make our way across low lying fields towards Tichborne, a village of thatch roofed homes and a pub . Tichborne marks both our destination and turning point . We return to Kilmeston along recognised tracks , woodland pathways and the pretty village of Beauworth.
