9.5 miles Vernham Dean

Lovely 9.5 mile figure of eight walk based around Vernham Dean using both footpaths and quiet country lanes. Only 2 stiles and sticks may be useful on the hill climbs. If weather is fine then there are some lovely long views.

The morning walk of 5.5 miles starts with some road walking before climbing Fosbury Hill to the west. The route then goes round to the north before coming back to the George Inn at Vernham Dean for lunch. Picnicers are very welcome on this walk and there are some nice benches close to the pub on The Green. The afternoon walk is 4 miles with a steep hill after lunch to Conholt Lane.
