5 miles at Griggs Green

The walk is just shy of 5 miles with no stiles. We start with a gentle ascent along the Shipwrights Way, pass Old Thorns Hotel and Golf resort. We then exit the pine wood onto heath land at Weavers Down, which backs on to the military camp of Longmoor. Here there are extensive views across to the Surrey Hills and West Sussex.

We then descend through heather to head around the back of Champneys Forest Mere Spa Resort before circling Folly Pond to join the Sussex border path. The walk then passes alongside the Liphook Golf Course before returning to the pub through the Foley Estate .

A couple of areas are still a bit wet and muddy, but they should have dried by the time of the walk. The Rhododendrons have started to bud and hopefully will be starting to flower by the end of the month.
