12 miles Chawton Park Wood (to the South)

A 12 mile circular walk from Chawton Park Wood to the south along woodland tracks and harvest fields.  After leaving Four Marks we join the Writers Way through woodland to the east before following Kitcombe lane and then heading down to Rotherfield Park and its beautiful parkland.  Having climbed out of the park we take open field tracks to the back of Ropley and stop for a late picnic lunch at Swelling Hill pond.  Our return to Four Marks is through paddocks and alleyways, taking in Medstead and Four Marks railway station (the highest operational station in the southeast).
