11+Stoughton Down

An 11 mile circular walk starting from the Stoughton forest car park.  Woodland paths and tracks give shelter from the sun before opening into wonderful views of field and forest.  After passing through Walderton the route climbs up to the Devil's Humps tumuli above Kingley Vale with views across to Chichester Harbour.  We return along a wide and mostly level woodland track before gently climbing across meadows.  The last section of this walk is again through woodland.  On one of the hottest days of the year this was a cool walk with a lovely breeze on the tops.
