11+ Stansted Forest

A varied walk through woodland and rolling countryside with wonderful far reaching views en route. We start on the Monarch's Way, passing Stansted House, then head for West Marden (coffee stop) and Compton, where we will have a picnic lunch,  before returning through Stansted Forest. A mixture of footpaths, tracks and a little road walking.

There are 3 hills and one stile, with a few fallen trees to step over. Some footpaths are a bit overgrown, but not badly so. 2 fields have been ploughed post-harvest, so a bit of a lumpy surface, but not deep ruts. Poles may be helpful if you use them.
