11+. Savernake Forest

Starting in Savernake Forest, this walk goes north eastwards to some of the upper part of the River Kennet. In the afternoon, the walk passes several of the forest’s named oaks. We will see a column celebrating the “recovery” of George III and hear about the local connection to another third connected to Henry VIII.
