For this walk, we are asking everyone, including Ramblers, to book a free place, so that we can keep a handle on numbers.
If you do find it difficult to book using the website, please contact Richard (chair@WinchesterRamblers.org.uk) who will book a place for you.
Any walkers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The minimum age to join this walk is 16.
Your walk will be led by an experienced Ramblers Walk Leader from Hampshire.
Be prepared
Please wear appropriate footwear and clothes according to the weather and length of walk and don't forget sun and rain protection.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Check details of the start and end point of the walk you have chosen. Most walks return to the start point, but some are "linear" and finish at a different point.
Transport
In Alresford, there is limited parking at the start point, Arlebury Park Recreation Ground, The Avenue, New Alresford, SO24 9EP. Alternative parking at Perins Car Park, Jacklyns Lane, New Alresford, SO24 9J.Parking charges apply.
In Winchester, there is no parking at the Cathedral and we recommend you use one of the Park and Rides. The Half-Marathon walks start at East Winchester (St Catherine's) P&R.
Bus services and the ail stations are a shortish walk from the cathedral. Stagecoach's No.64 bus provides half-hourly service between Winchester Broadway and Alresford.
Unfortunately, none of the planned walks will be wheelchair-accessible.
It's unlikely that the walk will pass any public conveniences, so it's a good idea to use toilets near the start.
Remember to bring something to drink and eat according to the length of the walk.
